Who is responsible for the website
HomeBuyerGuide.co.uk is owned and operated by Prudent Plus Limited, Booths Hall, Booths Park, Chelford Road, Knutsford WA16 8GS. Prudent Plus Limited is the controller of personal information sent directly to us. Our Information Commissioner’s Office registration reference is ZB208127.
The home-insurance comparison reached through our links is provided by Seopa Ltd, trading as Quotezone. Information entered after leaving our site is handled under Quotezone’s own privacy notice. Insurers and other businesses shown during that journey may also have their own responsibilities.
This notice covers information for which Prudent Plus Limited is responsible. It does not attempt to replace another organisation’s notice. If you are unsure which business holds your quotation or policy information, check the name and contact details shown on the relevant page or document.
Technical information created when pages are opened
You do not have to supply your name, telephone number or address to read the site. The hosting and security services that deliver the pages may still create technical logs. These can include an internet address, browser type, requested page, referring page, time and information used to identify unusual or harmful traffic.
Logs are used to keep the service available, investigate faults and protect it from misuse. We may look at anonymous totals to understand which guides are useful. We do not operate an insurance quotation form and do not see the answers entered on Quotezone unless another service clearly tells you that specified information will be shared.
Emails and correspondence
If you contact us, we receive your email address, name and anything included in the message. Send only the information needed for the question. Ordinary email is not suitable for bank details, identity documents, medical records or confidential conveyancing papers.
Correspondence is used to reply, correct site information, deal with a complaint and meet legal or regulatory duties. The usual legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling enquiries and operating the website. A legal obligation may apply when information must be retained or disclosed. We do not add correspondents to a marketing list without a clear request and consent.
Cookies and links to other websites
The site itself does not create a visitor account or use advertising cookies. Essential technologies may be used by hosting and security services. If optional analytics, advertising or similar tracking is added, this notice and any necessary consent controls will be updated before it is used.
Quotezone, GOV.UK, MoneyHelper, RICS and other linked websites control their own pages, cookies and privacy arrangements. Following a link normally allows the receiving website to see technical information needed to deliver its page. Review its notice before entering personal details.
An affiliate identifier is included in the Quotezone link so a completed purchase can be attributed to Prudent Plus Limited. The receiving service may record that identifier alongside information about the visit. Quotezone’s notice explains its handling of data within the quotation service.
Sharing, retention and international processing
Service providers may process information for hosting, security, email or technical support. They should use it only to supply the contracted service and protect it appropriately. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to address fraud or security, or to establish or defend a legal claim. We do not sell enquiry details.
Correspondence is kept only while useful for the enquiry, records or a legal duty. Complaints and regulatory records may be kept longer. Technical-log periods are set according to operational and security needs. Where a supplier processes information outside the UK, the responsible organisation must use a lawful transfer safeguard.
Your rights and how to raise a concern
Depending on the reason information is held, UK data-protection law may allow you to request a copy, correct inaccurate data, object to certain processing, ask for restriction or deletion, or receive information in a portable form. Consent can be withdrawn where processing relies on it. These rights are not absolute in every situation.
Write to the postal address above or email askprudent@sent.com. We may need enough information to confirm identity. If you remain unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. This notice will be updated if the site’s handling of information changes.
We normally respond in the form in which a request was received unless another secure method is needed. If a request is complex, repeated or concerns information held by another controller, we will explain the position rather than quietly passing responsibility elsewhere.
